Seminar and Site Visit of HKCOLO Carrier Colocation Centre

March 4, 2011 – HKCOLO hosted a seminar and facility site visit for Dr. Indranil Bose, Associate Professor of the University of Hong Kong and his students, MBA (Strategic information Systems) at its Carrier Colocation Centre in Sino Favour, Chai Wan.

Since the seminar hosted by HKCOLO last year was very successful, HKCOLO plans to hold more field trips for students who are interested in this industry. During the seminar session, students were keen on asking about colocation services and facilities.

Site Visit is as much as important as the seminar to let students learn more about the practical operation in a neutral colocation facility, for example the Meet-Me-Room (MMR) and eMMR in order to enrich their knowledge and understanding. Besides, it showed the sub-sea cable point from one of the HKCOLO’s customers providing submarine cable capacity and the extraterrestrial connections of major satellite operators in the building’s rooftop.

Holding seminars and site visits for students enhances their interest and attracts more young talents to the industry. HKCOLO believes that students can gain valuable experience out of books after the event.
