HKCOLO, the first neutral colocation service provider in Hong Kong, announces its working together with KDDI Corporation, a leading telecommunication corporation in Japan in developing of a data center in Tseung Kwan O of Hong Kong.
The data center, originally wholly owned by Goodcolo Limited, will be branded TELEHOUSE Hong Kong Cloud Computing Complex (CCC) under the ownership of HKCOLO. NET Ltd. with two shareholders, Goodcolo and KDDI, each having 50% of the shares respectively. It will be operated based on standards adopted by the Telehouse Group and procedures developed by the HKCOLO Group.
The cooperation will not change the mission and objective of this data center in Hong Kong. The data center will remain ’neutral‘ and continue to serve Cloud Computing Companies, Financial Institutions, Enterprises, Application and Hosting Service Providers, Telecom Carriers, Internet Content and Service Providers, Infrastructure Providers and Submarine Cable Operators.
The 3-storeyed stand-alone facility has a 360,000-ft2 floor area surrounded by a 7.8-ft-tall concrete fence wall. It will be secured and capable of providing service up to Tier 3+ requirements. It is designed to meet the need of high-end customers.
