September 29, 2006 (Frankfurt, Germany & Hong Kong, China) ancotel and HKCOLO, two neutral colocation and network interconnection providers, are pleased to announce the formation of their strategic alliance. ancotel's Frankfurt facilities, with more than 240 network providers, and HKCOLO's Hong Kong facilities, also serving over 220 network carriers, are aligning their services and MMR to reinforce Euro-Asia networks. The alliance's goal is to help foster business leads and opportunities between European and Asian carrier and network customers, and to increase the potential for new business, technology and services.
The first such concept is the (virtual meet-me-room operated by ancotel in HKCOLO). European carriers will recognize a product they are familiar with back home. Asian carriers will find the Asian and the European ways of doing business are converging. After a stand-alone has been established in Hong Kong, HKCOLO and ancotel will invite other partners to merge Europe and Asia's two into one with virtually "zero" distance separation. Both carrier and network customers in the two respective sites will then be able to interconnect with each other without the need of another pop in the remote site.
"HKCOLO is very happy to be in alliance with ancotel," according to Mr. S.H. Cheng, Chief Executive Officer of HKCOLO. "The alliance does not just unify two leading interconnection facilities, but also two continents and brings huge connectivity opportunities to those residing in the two regions. Carriers and network providers in Europe and Asia who used to do business with two oceans and one continent in between themselves will find that they are now much closer. This agreement means that, carriers and network providers with different technologies in the two continents will reap the benefit of new business opportunities in the same . The strategic alliance is a natural development after ancotel has successfully deployed their service at our facilities. We look forward to a successful partnership, and will continue to look for other opportunities with ancotel."
"ancotel is pleased to participate in a strategic alliance with HKCOLO," according to Michael Boelhert, Director Business Development of ancotel. "Carriers and network providers in Europe and Asia will find a new array of connectivity opportunities, which further enhance the portfolio of ancotel and HKCOLO to the benefit of both of our customers. The strategic alliance with HKCOLO offers a high cost-reduction and advanced interconnection potential for customers. We have already received a request from our customer base, which is very promising. Our goal is to offer a network-neutral interconnection option to help our customers choose the ideal solution for their needs from several solutions."
