Private Equity Research Coverage of the cbx!

New York Global Securities (NYGS) is a leading investment banking and securities firm that provides a wide range of services to insititutional investors, corporations and private investors. The firm has two core areas of expertise. One is research and investment in a small and medium sized enterprises in China and the other is the tech value chain throughout Asia and the U.S.

A representative from NYGS recently attended the telx cbx to learn more about emerging technologies within the telecommunications industry. Below is an an excerpt from their monthly newsletter.

NYGS: Filtered Packets - The Evolving Telecom Landscape

Filtered Packets focuses on current issues related to IP-led trends in the communications industry. The first section is devoted to in-depth analysis of one or more topics. Section two highlights relevant news items of the week. The third section highlights recent stock performance.

Last week we attended telx's customer business connection event in New York City. telx owns and operates in carrier hotels in New York and Atlanta. The company offers collocation facilities and promotes telecommunications peering and connectivity. Highlights of the event included several emerging technologies and trends that will impact the telecom landscape going forward.

?Industry consolidation to continue? Several vendors we spoke with at the telx event voiced the opinion that industry consolidation would likely continue. One executive noted that foreign entitie are likely to enter the market to purchase U.S. market share.

?Innovative IP services. Stealth Communications launched a new registry service and discussed its Voice Peering Fabric at the event. Both services are indicative of the long-term erosion of incumbent carrier control over voice communications, in our view.

?News and notes from the next-gen scene. Covad partners with XO Holdings subsidiary for wireless spectrum to deliver high capacity wireless services, Verizon and Cablevision launch the video wars, and Broadwing's real-time transport for media.

?IP Communications composite.
The IP Communications composite gained 2.0% for the week and has declined 15.2% over the last 30  days.

? IP Communications list. To be added to the NYGS IP Communications distribution list, email research@nygsresearch.com or contact your NYGS sales representative.
